Hello Brethren,
We have all been told that a Lodge is not just a building. In fact, that may even be the most insignificant part of the lodge. We hear all about the great and glorious edifice we are building here. This edifice we can’t build with our hands. Sometimes we may try something that we think all will enjoy or stand behind, but find out later this may not be the case. Things don't always happen as they have been designed or intended to. That becomes part of the learning experience in finding that common ground on which we can all best work and best agree. But, we continue to try and spread that cement that will join us to rally around a common cause. This is not only the most challenging part but, also the most rewarding. To me, we are building an organization that makes men from many different walks of life want to join. What is it that makes this group of men band together; when from the outside it looks as though they have nothing in common. That is one of the mysteries that attracts men from everywhere.
It seems our lodge has one basic characteristic that really works for us. We have quite a few great men with a passion to "pass on" or teach those things that many of the rest of us thirst for learning. This seems to be one way in which two groups of men are very simply brought together for mutual benefit, when it seems from the outside they have nothing in common.
With all that said, we have many opportunities for everyone to get involved for a truly outstanding month at Anaheim 207! This starts with our August stated meeting that our Worshipful Master has agreed to casual dress, with a Hawaiian theme. If you have a Hawaiian shirt; especially one that is particularly loud, make sure to wear it to the August stated meeting and show your spirit for bringing back some fun in Anaheim.
Fraternally,
Kevin Stibich Senior Warden |
