From the West - August 2011

Brethren,

With August upon us, we've passed the midpoint of the year, and at Anaheim Lodge No. 207, that means that there are only a few more months until this Masonic year concludes.  We look forward to Grand Lodge, our elections and the fall holidays.

Historically, August has been an interesting month.  Francis Scott Key was born during the month, the first photograph of Earth from the Moon was taken by Lunar Orbiter I during it's 16th orbit, and Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered the final speech at the March for Jobs and Freedom held in Washington, D.C. on August 28th, 1963.  This speech was his "I Have A Dream" speech, which has resonated around the world and throughout the ages since it was delivered.

This month the Lodge held it's first ever Steak Fry fundraiser, and it was a tremendous success!  It was great to see our members turning out in such numbers to support the Lodge!  Brother Bell, your Senior Deacon this year, put on a fantastic event!

Our Lodge continues to rebound, and more and more members are coming to our events, Degrees, and Stated Meetings.  Come on down and see what you've been missing!

May peace and harmony be with you daily.

Ray Dailey
Senior Warden
