Br. Bincins Garcia, who is our Organist this year in the lodge, was spirited away from a highly successful Jazz music program at Esperanza High School to create the Music Department at the brand new Yorba Linda High School. Bincins is enjoying his position as Music Director of the new High School and especially the Jazz ensemble. He showcased their achievements with the first annual Music Festival held last month.
The Jazz group played an outstanding series of numbers with good depth of sound and well played solos, especially considering the player pool is currently limited to Freshmen and Sophomores.
Also performing were Three Car Garage and The Joe Harris Swing Band. Some members of each of these bands are parents of the student musicians and mentor the School music programs. Bincins is blessed with a great Band Booster organization that has a few professional musicians to lend a hand. Rob Verde, leader of the SideStreet Strutters of Disneyland and President of the Band Boosters, was flipping burgers outside.
Bincins has been a strong supporter of the lodge's Child ID program for several years after he left Anaheim Schools to embark on his present career.
Congratulations Br. Bincins on a job well done and we are looking forward to next year's Jazz fest.
